Are dogs allowed on Holden Beach?

Dogs are allowed on the beach from September 10 to May 20 and during off hours between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. Be sure to keep your dog on a leash at all times when you’re on the island, and bring doggy bags with you to pick up after them.

Service Animals & Emotional Support Animals

If you are traveling with a service dog, Coastal Resort Vacations waives our normal pet fees in accordance with the ADA regulations and Federal Fair Housing Laws. A service dog, as defined by the American Disabilities Act (ADA) is a dog that has been specifically trained to assist with tasks or work for a person with a disability. We obey all service animal regulations with documentation.

Resources for ADA information: Requirements for Service Animals & Service Animals FAQ. Emotional support dogs, however, are not trained to accomplish specific tasks or jobs for a person and are intended to provide comfort to an individual. You are more than welcome to bring your emotional support dog to our pet-friendly rentals, but keep in mind that fees are not waived.

Are dogs allowed at all properties?

Dogs are allowed only at designated properties. Only one dog per household is permitted unless approved by the homeowner.

Is there an extra charge to bring my dog?

A non-refundable $250 plus tax dog fee will be required before check-in. This dog fee is for additional cleaning, flea spray, etc. 

Properties That Don't Allow Pets

If a dog is found on premises that do not allow dog, your rental right will be terminated immediately with no refund of rental monies. You will also be required to pay a dog fee. This policy is strictly enforced.
