Description

Darling retro 1965 oceanfront cottage that takes you back to another day and time! Just steps to the beach, this cheery house has decks on both sides. The seaside deck and sunroom with table & chairs, provide stunning views of ocean sunrise and sunsets. The large marsh side deck has rockers for a serene view. In addition to the full bath, each bedroom has it's own retro sink. Beachy decor with ceiling fans throughout, banana trees and well equipped kitchen are just part of the fun. BBQ grill, queen sofa bed, TV, WIFI and cable. Wonderful ocean views, ideal for couples or small families, pet friendly with payment of pet fee. Sleeps 4-6. BED LINENS PROVIDED (BEDS IN BEDROOMS ONLY) FOR WEEKLY RENTALS. NO TOWELS PROVIDED but can be rented through Coastal Vacation Resorts.

I rented Yellow Bird Based on the pictures and because it was smaller, perfect for me and my dog. From the outside, it’s quaintly simple and definitely has the mid 60s cottage look. I was happy & smiling as soon as I stepped inside and saw how perfectly the owners had decorated, with that same throwback to the 60s beachy vibe. Spotlessly clean, with newer floors throughout, it has a well stocked kitchen, two bedrooms of good size and the bathroom is in great shape. The decor colors are vibrant and fun, with lots of tropical themed artwork placed just right. While it doesn’t have a covered back porch, there is a standing beach umbrella you can set up for shade. Best of all, it’s right on the beach, offering great views and the wonderful sound of waves and beach birds. I highly recommend Yellow Bird for a small family, two couples or a treat for yourself. It’s a fun, cozy, retro and all-around great place to stay! I’ve already booked for Fall of this year and Spring of next year!

This was our first trip to Holden Beach and although the drive took about an hour longer that beaches we typically visit, it was most definitely worth it!!! We couldn't have been happier. The house has held its charm from the 60s and has been well cared for. And! The! Beach!!! Right there!!! It was perfect!!! We took advantage of the beach gear points and had umbrellas and chairs available every day. The sand was clean and the waves were wonderful. Not many neighbors so it almost felt like we had all it to ourselves.I can't wait to book another week soon! Thank you so much!!!!-cj
